Their company name is a nod to the cunning rogues of Speyside. Workers at distilleries used to make "Copper Dogs" out of scrap metal and coins to smuggle the Scotch so they could drink it with their friends and family. Because they were their owners' closest companions and never left their masters' sides, they were known as Copper Dogs.
